Shared Writing: Our poem "Animal Sounds"

This week in literacy we have read Hunter poems of the Yoruba, a people from West Africa. They said poems by heart, about the animals they hunted. We read about the elephant and the leopard. We identified metaphors and similes in the poems.

We listened to animal sounds on tape and using our white boards, we wrote what those sounds reminded us of. These are some of our selected metaphors. We hope you like it.
